Sustainability

The Buckland Studios were built and continue to operate on environmentally friendly and energy-saving principles.

The studios feature solar passive design, whole-building wrap-around insulation, double glazing and draft proofing. Cross-ventilation also allows fresh mountain breezes to cool and refresh the studios, although air-conditioning is also provided.

Hot water is provided by solar heat pumps, with a full solar hot water service in Studio 5. Our water-wise principles mean that we collect rainwater.

Where possible we use enviro-friendly cleaning products.

We have revegetated the spaces between the studios with native species, utilising thousands of seedlings; and we opt in to Green Energy.

We are currently researching Solar for the entire property.

We hope these steps provide more reasons to feel good about staying at The Buckland Studios.
