Welcome to The Buckland Studios

We’re so excited to be able to share this special piece of paradise with you. 

As long-time locals, the areas surrounding The Buckland, (Porepunkah and Bright) hold special significance for our family. 

A true local at heart, Dave was born and bred in Porepunkah. He’s called this area home for most of his life. Even after time spent travelling the world, it still called him back. 

Dave and I met in Bright, nearly 20 years ago. Originally from Geelong myself, I was here working for the ski company at Mt Hotham.

Together, we moved to Geelong and did the regional city life for 10 years. 

However, Porepunkah still called to our hearts, and so we moved back with our three children in tow - Elsie now 14, Otis 13 and Millie 10.

In 2019, we purchased The Buckland from Sabine and Eddie, who created something truly magical here. Set on 40 stunning acres, The Buckland is a working farm, surrounded by pristine bushland. 

Dave is a plumber by trade, and my background is in hospitality. I’m also a massage therapist (although these days most of my time is happily spent preparing our guest spaces).

Our days are blissfully full keeping the Buckland Studios maintained and adding those special extra touches to make sure our guests feel completely pampered. 

Drawing on our extensive hospitality experience and passion for memorable stays, we enjoy spending time handcrafting lux bath salts and gourmet granola for guests to enjoy. 

During your stay, we’re as involved, or as much in the background, as you prefer. 

With our strong roots in the local community, we have extensive knowledge of the local area and the Alpine Region.

We’re always happy to share ideas on great places to visit, things to do and see, cafes, restaurants, wineries and local experiences.
